Rockhill Farms attended the John Deere Baler Clinic, on February 20th at Smith Tractor in Atmore, Alabama. The training detailed baler setup, operation, and adjustments for JD balers taught by the people who know the equipment the best. It was a great learning opportunity that we will certainly use to increase our products’ quality.
My wife and I recently purchased 50 acres of mature perennial hay in Greenwood Fl. We are looking for advice on the type of hay equipment to purchase.

I apologize for the delayed response. We advise using a mower conditioner to help dry the hay faster. We have a John Deere 635 MoCo and really like it. We have a John Deere 348 baler and like it but have also hear good things about Hesston inline balers. We run a Hoelsher Accumulator on the back of our baler (should be pictures in our photo library on this website) and have a Hoelsher grapple we stack in the hay barn with. But we pick up bundles from the field and stack trailers with a Kuhns tie grabber to help secure the bundles more for transport from fields to hay barn and to be stacked. Hope this helps and if you would like to talk more please feel free to contact us.
